2015 Glenwood Springs
Orcas Island
For Salmon Enhancement, We
Contributed $6,322.78 for Incubator Trays.
Our funding provided five new racks of trays
and with the purchase, the manufacture donated a sixth.
Several of us visited the
hatchery today August 7, 2015
and it was impressive!
They release almost
600,000 king salmon every year
and are a 501 (c) (3) corporation.
They operate from state grants and private donations.
We quizzed them about who catches the fish and
they said the wire tag records show
that everybody does from way north to locally.
The fish return in the spring and we catch them in July and August.
